Name

Teo Boorah

When did you join the CWH team?

September 2005

What brought you to CWH?

With my passion for computers, the web hosting industry was new to me and I was really curious how it worked.

What was your first impression of CWH?

The company was fairly small at the time which worked to my advantage because it gave me a chance to learn something really unfamiliar to me.

Who was your favourite superhero growing up? Why?

Superman because growing up, I watched a lot of the Superman movies with Christopher Reeves. I thought it would be so cool to be able to fly anywhere and be indestructible. It was sad when he had his accident and later passed away.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I was always in and out the hospital when I was younger so I would play with a lot of the kids there. I wanted to be a doctor and help all those kids. I ended up going to school to study electronics and computers because I loved to tinker and later on I learned how to code.

What is one thing you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t yet?

Skydiving, just like Theodore Chu. I’ve never really been afraid of heights but skydiving is the one thing that has me scared and excited.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about you?

I’m a bit of a nerd and a sports junkie.

What is your favourite website? Why?

I like to surf the web and I tend to jump around between a number of sites. I like to check out Gizmodo and TechCrunch every now and them, along with local sports sites. I like to follow hockey (Montréal Canadiens), basketball (Toronto Raptors), soccer (Juventus F.C.), and Baseball (NY Yankees).

What book are you currently reading?

I’m always looking around when I’m at a bookstore for something that catches my eye. It’s nice to hold a book every now and then; the last physical book I read was “The Martian” by Andy Weir, which I read while on vacation.

What is the nerdiest thing about you?

I loved video games growing up, I was always going to the arcade or even skipping classes to go play games at the local pool hall with friends.

Also, I played the saxophone for more than 6 years.

What is one unusual or interesting thing about you?

I love taking things apart, especially computers and electronics to see how they work.  I’m a bit of hoarder when it comes to electronics as I always think I can fix or take parts from items and use them later.

What is your favourite thing about being part of the CWH team?

I love speaking with our clients on a daily basis and hearing about their hosting ideas and how we can help them succeed. Every situation is different.

I also love the team I work with—we have a lot of fun!

What is your favourite thing about working in the tech and web hosting industry?

Being around tech because it is constantly changing and there is always something new to learn.

What is the most interesting thing that has happened to you since working at CWH?

I’ve been around at Canadian Web Hosting for quite some time. It’s great to see how much the company has grown!

What is your favourite thing about being a Customer Experience Manager?

Communicating between our various departments and bringing together the right people to complete a task for clients when things are complicated. And of course, to be able to provide clients with great customer service.
