Jessica Ditchella is Assistant Team Lead on our Customer Support team. Around the office, she’s known for her magical “Crinkle Cookies”— they’re the perfect blend of sweetness, gooeyness, and love. Jessica is always perfectly punctual (not a second late) and terrifically thorough (every ‘i’ dotted and ‘t’ crossed). Jessica handles our phone and email support channels, so if you’ve ever reached out with queries about your web hosting, there’s a chance she’s lent you a helping hand. Find out more about Jessica below and maybe she’ll reveal one of her secret recipes.

Name

Jessica Ditchella

When did you join the CWH team?

April 2014

What brought you to CWH?

My last job was in the technology sector. I love working in tech because there is always something new and interesting to learn.

What was your first impression of CWH?

It’s a very challenging job, but that’s part of the fun for me 🙂

Who was your favourite superhero growing up? Why?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

I love their theme song and I have no shame in admitting that I used to jump around the house practicing my best ninja moves whenever I heard it play.

I love how the show’s creators gave each of the characters their own unique personalities, which meant that every kid was able to identify with one of them at least. Cowabunga!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I’ve always wanted to be a fashion designer since I was a little girl—it runs in the family. But, I’ve also gone through phases in which I wanted to be a marine biologist or an entrepreneur.

What is one thing you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t yet?

I have always wanted to go zip lining.

Also, I really want to visit the set where my favourite TV show Supernatural is filmed.

How I would react if I got to meet Sam and Dean.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about you?

I LOVE the 90’s Canadian boy band The Moffatts!
I’ve been a fan since 1998. Last year I saw them in concert not once, not twice, but three times in a four-month time period!

A shining moment for me.

What is your favourite website? Why?

YouTube. I love to bake and I’ve found YouTube to be an amazing resource for learning how to bake. I can rewind the video, pause it, and watch it over and over again until I become an expert.

I adore baking and sharing my creations and yes—these are my famous “Crinkle Cookies!”

What book are you currently reading?

The Hedge Knight by George R. R. Martin. It’s an epic graphic novel set in medieval times!

What is the nerdiest thing about you?

My fondness for anime and Summoners War—hands down!

Anyone else addicted to this game?

What is one unusual or interesting thing about you?

I used to climb mountains a lot. Unfortunately, I don’t have too many photos to share of my hikes because I like to practice the philosophy: “to really remember a moment, just enjoy it—don’t take pictures.” As I write this, I’m starting to feel that I want to start hiking again!

What is your favourite thing about being part of the CWH team?

Everything! Every person I work with is reliable, friendly, and talented.  Although we all do different things, we’re contributing to a larger goal. It’s never boring and there is always a room for self-improvement.

What is your favourite thing about working in the tech and web hosting industry?

I love working in the tech industry because it’s a way for me to be creative, yet make a living doing what I love.

What is the most interesting thing that has happened to you since working at CWH?

Through CWH I ended up taking online classes to develop my knowledge in website administration and development. CWH is very encouraging about personal growth and professional development.

What is your favourite thing about being an Assistant Team Lead on the Customer Support team?

I adore being a support hero because I learn new things every day, including from our customers. The work we do impacts our customers and it is appreciated and acknowledged in many ways, making it all worth it!
