Microsoft has recently revealed a major Windows security vulnerability found in Remote Desktop Services, formerly known as Terminal Services, which affects some older versions of Windows. This includes Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2008. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker (or malware) to remotely execute code on a vulnerable system.
Because the vulnerability is “wormable”, meaning it can easily spread from one vulnerable computer to another vulnerable computer, it is advised that all affected systems should be patched as quickly as possible. More information about this vulnerability is available here.
We have already applied relevant patches to multi-tenant environments.
For customers running their own dedicated, virtual and cloud machines, you can complete the security update yourself or you can open a ticket with our support team if you require assistance.
Microsoft has provided a security update to patch this vulnerability which can be found here.
