Shortly after announcing their plans to implement ad-blocker to Chrome, Google is now looking to upgrade the Google My Business dashboard with four new and improved features. This update means that My Business users are able to extract more data than before, leading to a more focused understanding of how the business is doing.

The new features added are:

1. Regular Customers and Popular Times:

The dashboard now provides data on how many times customers have made a return trip to your business in the past five days, and establishes when it perceives is your busiest time of the day. Customers will also be able to see this graph and may result in more customers during down times, resulting in business even during slower times.

2. Link to Restaurant Menu:

This change does not affect every business, but it’s worth keeping note even as a consumer. Google has allowed for business owners to provide the restaurant’s menu on their dashboard to go along with hours of operation as well as phone number.

3. Link to Services Menu:

Users are now able to link their website and products onto the Google My Business Dashboard. Despite being a seemingly minor change, this new feature is perhaps the most impactful one. In fact, most interactions happen on Google, not the business website. If you don’t believe us, consider this scenario: You are looking for a new restaurant to eat at, but have no idea what’s good. Your first reaction will be to google places to eat and find out ratings, hours of operation, as well as menu options. More often than not, you can tell if you are going to eat at this restaurant just by looking through the information provided by Google. However, if the information provided was not enough for you, there is also a link to their website, which may be the icebreaker you need to commit to the eatery. Put simply, putting the link on the dashboard means your website is getting more exposure, and can often be the deciding factor between you and your competition.

4. 18 months of Data:

Google now provides a significant amount of data for businesses to work with, leaving up to 18 months of data to download. Some of the data includes:
