BoxBe Filter for Gmail, AOL Mail and Yahoo Mail
When I first visited BoxBe, it sounded promising. If you're using one of the mail services from Gmail, AOL Mail or Yahoo Mail, it claims it can reduce the clutter of email overload.
It does this by using something akin to social networking. If you interact with someone via email, they will be automatically put into your friends list. If not, then they will be put
in a waiting list for you to approve. It's to get emails that matters to you most (your friends and business contacts) first and hides other less important messages (newsletters, spam mails) until you approve them.
Latest Email Spam
We received several tickets today about a new type of email spam that is very personable and hard to ignore.
The email looks like this:
Subject: For the owner of the user@yourdomain.com mailbox
Dear user of the yourdomain.com mailing service!
We are informing you that because of the security upgrade of the mailing
service your mailbox (user@yourdomain.com) settings were changed.
In order to apply the new set of settings click on the following link:
link url that links to yourdomain.com
Best regards, yourdomain.com Technical Support.

The link in the URL seems to a 404 not found link but for now, do not click on the link. It seems these spammers are testing a new form of spam that grabs your attention as they use yourdomain.com. Just DELETE it. Do not reply to email, unsubscribe, etc.

Just click this Google link to see others who have received it too

Troubleshooting Email Problems
Increased Spam filters, Spyware/Internet Scanners, and ISP filters seem to be the major causes of email trouble tickets.
The number one problem I get is "I can receive email but I can't send." This usually follows my question, "Who is your Internet Service Provider?" Majority of ISPs are blocking 3rd party SMTP (TCP Port 25) in an attempt to prevent spam from their networks.
